Lighthouse tender Heather albums, 1904-1905.

This collection documents two voyages to Alaska by the lighthouse tender "Heather," in 1904 and 1905. A photograph album containing 44 unlabeled images and a brief ship's log in typescript documents a voyage from Astoria, Oregon, to the Scotch Cap lighthouse on Unimak Island, Alaska, and back to Seattle, Washington, 31 August through 7 October 1904. A list of photographs accompanies this album, but does not correspond precisely to the order in which the images are found. A photograph album containing 42 labeled images documents a similar voyage in 1905. Images in both albums include general scenery and views of a number of Alaskan light stations. The Tree Point station on Revillagigedo Channel in Southeast Alaska is particularly well represented among the photos.
